Swim Evolution – Safeguarding Policy

This Safeguarding Policy applies to all staff, contractors, and students involved with Swim Evolution, based at 31 Chudleigh Road, Romford, RM3 9AU.
Swim Evolution is committed to ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all swimmers. We take our duty of care seriously and aim to create a safe, positive environment for every child and vulnerable person who attends our lessons.
1. Commitment to Safeguarding
Swim Evolution recognises its responsibility to safeguard all swimmers. We aim to meet the highest ethical and legal standards by placing child protection and wellbeing at the heart of our swimming programme.
All staff working with Swim Evolution are expected to uphold these principles at all times.
2. Qualifications and Checks

All Swim Evolution instructors hold recognised Swim England or STA teaching qualifications.

All instructors are DBS checked and cleared to work with children.

All staff complete regular training to ensure current and safe teaching practices are maintained.

All staff follow the Swim England Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
3. Ongoing Training and Conduct
Instructors are encouraged to attend child protection workshops and safeguarding training.
This ensures awareness of the issues that might cause harm and the ability to identify, report, and prevent abuse.
All staff are required to maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct.
4. Communication and Reporting
Swim Evolution promotes open communication between parents, instructors, and management.
We encourage anyone with concerns about a swimmer’s welfare to raise them immediately.
We take every concern seriously and handle all matters sensitively and in confidence.
5. Safeguarding Procedures
Swim Evolution has clear internal procedures to manage any safeguarding or welfare concerns.
All instructors are aware of these procedures and understand how to report potential issues.
We maintain appropriate supervision and ensure safe and respectful use of changing rooms.
Any concerns of inappropriate behaviour or misuse should be reported straight away.
6. External Safeguarding Guidance
Swim Evolution follows the guidelines set out in Swim England’s Wavepower Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
